(Document captures from Sweethearts by Emmett Williams, a poem that is not often spoken of, perhaps because it is largely unlike any other. A long-form concrete poem, Williams uses the eleven letters that make up the word 'sweethearts' to craft a witty, playful, erotic and wondrous experience. Williams even urges the reader to try rapidly flipping the pages to create a "primitive cinematic effect". As has seemingly become a theme with some of the long-poems I've highlighted here, it too remains out of print, but I urge you to try and get your hands on a copy...)
